Command prompt emulator mac3/15/2023 Sometimes, a PowerShell script needs to stop execution, or terminate dead in it's tracks. While defining properties, it is a good idea to define data type of each property. I discovered recently that there is another PITA character that interferes with my workaround - it’s a single quote, or apostrophe. When Out-File (essentially what > is an alias for) gets these strings, it always appends a line terminator sequence. Powershell line terminator But it terminates also the caller script.
